Grylu Sker (2026)

Deep in the cold, myth-soaked wilds of Iceland, a stranded adventurer battles the elements—and something far more ancient—in *Grylu Sker*, a haunting reimagining of the legendary witch Gryla. Penned by screenwriting veteran Tab Murphy (*Gorillas in the Mist*, *The Haunted Swordsman*) alongside Icelandic literary luminary Sjón (co-writer of *The Northman*), this cinematic odyssey plunges viewers into a stark, unforgiving island where folklore breathes and survival is a grim, relentless test. Forged with painstaking artistry, the film breathes life into its dark fairy tale through towering 36-inch bunraku puppets, hypnotic stop-motion frames, camera-captured practical effects, and the timeless charm of theatrical illusion—smoke, mirrors, and all. Prepare for a visceral journey where human endurance collides with mythic terror.
