More About This Film

A Social Contract is a contained thriller built around a Fourth of July dinner that suddenly becomes a fight for survival. When the guests learn that a nuclear strike has been announced and a helicopter will evacuate only a limited number of people, the evening turns into a desperate contest over who deserves a place on board.

The film uses a single social gathering to examine power, loyalty, fear and the ways people behave when familiar rules disappear. Sean Astin leads the ensemble as Senator Bennett Wilde, joined by Domenica Cameron-Scorsese, Craig Parker and Samora Smallwood.
